Wire Cut Consistency Protocol

Maintaining mark consistency is critical for minimizing inventory chaos and ensuring the next user can easily perform a reliable cut. All cuts must be performed based on the starting position of the measured mark.

Scenario 1: Mark at the Tip (Preferred Method)

The current wire mark (e.g., 5m) is at the tip of the wire, aligned with the machine's zero point (Marking Reference: **At the Tip**).

Action: Cut the wire just **BEFORE** the next digit up.

Example: If you start at 5 and want 5 units, you cut right **before** the 6 mark. This ensures the 6 mark is now at the new tip for the next cut.

Scenario 2: Mark 1 Meter In (Alternative Method)

The current wire mark (e.g., 5m) is located 1 meter (or 1 foot) in from the tip (Marking Reference: **1 Meter In**).

Action: Cut the wire just **AFTER** the digit you are cutting at.

Example: If you start at 5 (1m in) and want 5 units, you cut right **after** the 5 mark. This leaves the 6 mark still 1 meter in from the new tip, maintaining consistency in the offset.

**Goal:** Use Scenario 1 whenever possible. If Scenario 2 is used, the next person **must** use the wire cut tool's 1-meter offset feature to properly estimate the desired length, as the mark will not be at the tip.
